I am hoping for a video camera for Christmas and was wondering, if I get one, what kind of editor I would use. Windows Movie Maker looks like I cant put in effects like iMovie on the Mac. So is there something like iMovie that I can use for a PC?

try sony vegas, but it isn’t free. to get it for free, download the free trial (LEGAL) at sonycreativesoftware.com. then google a sony vegas keygen and use it. if you dont know how to use keygens go to youtube. after the keygen patches the serial number, sony vegas will work. if you are to unsure about keygens, i recommend not using it. the majority of sony vegas users use keygens (like me)

good luck

Music videos like Forever by Chris Brown, and Umbrella by Rihanna. What kind or what’s the name of the movie making software do they use to make these?

the best is adobe primiere but its too hard and complex
if you want a simple and easy one with very good and amazing options try ulead video studio
its a very good software.
good luck.

I have a windows XP so imovie isn’t an option. I have a sony DV camera, and I have the windows movie maker, but its a bit simple for what I need. I would like more editing techniques!

There’s very little free stuff and WMM is probably the best. AVS Video Editor is good for the price, but I think Sony’s Vegas Movie Studio is top of the pile.

What is a free, easy to use movie editor?

My kids and their cousin want to make movies. They want chroma key effects– they are elementary age kids. Is there a FREE movie editor that they can download for free, or use online that would allow for chroma key effects, that isn’t too hard to learn to use?

ZS4 can do chroma keying and it’s free, BUT I doubt if elementary school kids will be able to use it. If they do, please ask them to explain it to me!
